Privacy Statement

Normal rules of privacy and confidentiality are applicable. Any professional rules or codes of conduct applicable to you must be applied by you when using interactiveCSP (the Service). This includes 'The Rules of Professional Conduct' or 'Physiotherapy Assistants Code of Conduct' and the 'Standards of Physiotherapy Practice'. See Terms of Service for more information.

1. Introduction

We are committed to respecting your privacy and to complying with current applicable data protection and privacy laws. Information you provide to the service will be treated in accordance with the terms laid out in this Statement.

This statement will help you understand how we collect, use and protect the personal information you give to the service. Please take a few moments to read the statement.

2. Collecting and using information

  1. Personal
    We will only collect and use your personal information with your knowledge and consent. Your consent will be sought at the point of registration with the service.

    The personal information we collect will include, for example, your name, email address(es), professional interests and work related information. This information will be used to verify your registration and to enable us to provide you with the service and to update the CSP's membership system. This information may then be used by CSP to enable us to provide you with other services that are relevant to your needs and interests.

    All personal information will be held in strictest confidence and used only for the purposes for which we collect it.
  2. Non-personal
    The service uses cookies and records browsing (click-stream) activities. This helps us to better manage and develop our service; to provide you with a more enjoyable, customised service and experience in the future; and to help us develop and deliver better web services tailored to your individual interests and needs.

External web links

The service contains links to other web sites. We accept no responsibility or liability for the content of these web sites and the information they collect.

Cookies

Cookies are used to create session time outs, if you forget to logout of the service it will do this automatically for you after a set length of time.

You should refer to the supplier or manufacturer of your web browser for specific details about cookie security. Restricting all cookies served from our service will prevent our service from working correctly.

We treat all personal information as private and confidential. Other than under the terms of this Privacy Statement, the service and its moderators will not disclose any of your information, unless:

  • we are legally compelled to do so;
  • there is a duty to the public to disclose;

  • disclosure is made at your request or with your consent.

You can be assured that they are similarly obliged to adhere to the Data Protection Act and keep your information strictly confidential.

  4. Mailing Lists
    The Service uses email lists. The lists are not available for sale or rent to anyone. The lists will be used by registered users of the service to link with their professional peers to share information, experience etc. and by moderators to fulfill their role in delivering and managing the service.

All users, including those using a pseudonym are fully traceable on the Service and appropriate action will be taken against users who act outside of the Terms of Service.

4. Information security

We review regularly and enhance our technical, physical and managerial procedures and rules to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, accidental loss and/or destruction.

The Service aims to strike a balance between protecting the information that you have given us and giving you access to that information including the ability to change and update it. This is achieved by enabling you to create a unique username and password for your account. We also use industry standard secure sockets layer (SSL) 128 bit encryption technology, for example, to encrypt sensitive data.

You must keep this password safe and must not disclose it to anyone as it enables you to access your personal information. The site enables you to change your password at any time. We will accept no responsibility or liability if a third party obtains and uses your User ID and password. You must tell us immediately if you believe a third party may have obtained this information.

Please be aware that communications over the Internet, such as emails, are not secure unless they have been encrypted. Your communications may route through a number of countries before being delivered - this is the nature of the WorldWide Web/Internet. We cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorised access or loss of personal information that is beyond our control.
