CSP recognises the importance of providing an InteractiveCSP website that is accessible to all user-groups, including the disabled.
Accessibility features on this website
The following features improve navigation for screen-reader users, keyboard navigation and users of text-only browsers:
Navigation shortcuts
At the start of every page you can use one of the short cut links that allow you to jump directly to the most important parts of the page (for example to the main content or to the navigation section). Each of these also has an access key associated with it.
Sighted users who use the keyboard to navigate will see these links appear on screen when using the Tab key to navigate through the page.
Access keys
Access keys are keyboard shortcuts that replace the need to use the mouse for navigation in browsers that support them.
- In Internet Explorer on Windows, you can press ALT + an access key - then press the ENTER key to activate the link;
- Using FireFox on Windows, you can press ALT + an access key to activate the link;
- On a Macintosh, you can press Control + an access key - then press the ENTER key to activate the link.
The following access keys are available throughout the InteractiveCSP website:
- Alt + H: Profession-wide/Home
- Alt + A: Accessibility
- Alt + M: Site map
- Alt + P: Print page (prints main content only)
- Alt + C: Contact CSP
- Alt + L: Shortcut to login username edit box (use to quickly log in)
- Alt + N: Main navigation area (Column on Left Hand Side)
- Alt + O: Main content area
- Alt + T: terms of service
- Alt + X: Logout
- Alt + Y: Your account
- Alt + U: User guide
- Alt + S: Search
- Alt + G: Glossary
- Alt + V: Privacy statement
These access keys have been chosen to ease your movement around the InteractiveCSP website. Wherever possible, they also avoid conflicting with commonly used screen-reader keyboard shortcuts.
Session time out
This site operates a session time out of 60 minutes starting from when you last click on an iCSP web page link.
Site map
You can access a full list of the pages on our site by using the Site map.
Images
Images have been kept to a minimum and are only used to promote interest groups that moderate networks within InteractiveCSP.
Colours
We have checked the site's font and background colour combinations against the different colour blindness conditions and ensured that all information is still clear.
If you wish to override the site's colours, you can import your own style sheet.

You may change the font size of this document to your preference through your browser:
- In Internet Explorer, select View, then Text Size, and then your preferred size

Style sheets
This site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout. You may import your own style sheet into this website:
- In Internet Explorer select Tools, then Internet Options, and then Accessibility. Next click on any or all 3 checkboxes to ignore colours, font styles or font sizes. In the same window you can change your style sheet by clicking the checkbox that says, 'format document using my style sheet' - then simply browse to your style sheet and click OK.
For further help in using other web browsers please refer to your browser's help pages.
Tables
All tables have header cells to allow screen-readers to render them intelligently.
Forms
All forms follow a logical Tab sequence.
Scripting
JavaScript is used frequently on the site to improve usability, however some functions and features may not work if JavaScript is not available or switched off in your browser: please refer to your web browser for further guidance.
Links
Where appropriate, links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail, for example to advise you that the link will open in a new window.

What the site looks like
What you will first see
Once logged into the website and using the tab key to move around you will then see the 'Profession-wide' view. This view consists of informational links at the very top of the screen. Then moving down and left to what we call 'Tabbed' navigation menus that move you to different areas of the site. The 'Tabbed' navigation displays 'Profession-wide', 'Choose your network', 'Go'(to your network), 'Your CSP region', Your account' and 'Logout' links. Moving along and next is the 'Search feature'. Down and left again we move to the 'Content sections'. Tabbing further we move through 'Help and guidance', 'Manage your account', 'Your contributions' and 'Logout' and onto the 'Main content area'.
Profession-wide view
The screen is divided into three columns, the left hand side column contains 'Content sections', 'Help and guidance', 'Manage your account' and 'Logout'. The central column and right hand side column contains dynamically updated content.
List views
Divided into two columns, displaying content sections in the left hand side column and a 'Title' and 'Summary' of each item of content in the central area.
Detailed views
Divided into two columns, displaying content sections in the left hand side column and a full detailed display of individual items of content in the central area.
Standards compliance
InteractiveCSP has been built in accordance with the RNIB's See it Right guidelines, meeting all priority one checkpoints, most priority two checkpoints and some priority three checkpoints from the W3C web content accessibility guidelines.
We strive to obey the spirit of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) of 1995 with respect to the provision of services online, as required by the Disability Rights Commission (DRC).
Pages have also been tested on Jaws for Windows screen-reader.
PDFs and other downloadable documents
We have chosen to publish most of our documents as PDF files. Wherever practical, we have also created an HTML version of each document for ease of access.
Where we don't offer an HTML alternative version of a PDF file, you can try Adobe's online PDF converter, which attempts to reproduce the content of submitted PDFs into either a text or HTML file.
For information on the accessibility of PDF files, please visit the Access Adobe website.
